Hypertension & Home Remedies

More than half of the people above the age of 65 are suffering from it. Because of the side effects of the allopathic medicines, home remedy is a growing trend to cure it.
In Pakistan one out of every three Pakistanis over the age of 45 are affected by a chronic disease known as Hypertension (HTN) or high blood pressure. It is one of the major health problems faced in Pakistan. According to a survey conducted by the Society to Protect People Against Hypertension reveals that more than half of the people above the age of 65 are suffering from high blood pressure in Pakistan. The report also states the fact that 50% of the people do have any awareness about the disease, and they take it for granted and do not understand the fact that this deadly disease requires a long-term treatment to control it.

In simple layman language, we can say that high blood pressure is the pressure of the blood in the arteries. Arteries are the vessels that from the heart carry the blood to the rest of the body. This means that in hypertension, your heart has to work harder than required in order to pump the blood to the rest of the body. In medical terms hypertension is mostly termed as SILENT KILLER since it has no initial symptoms but paves a way for a long term disease and complications. Most of the time people do not know that they are suffering from this disease. Heart attack, stock and kidney failure is some of the most important outcomes that are triggered by the uncontrolled and poorly treated hypertension. The major causes of hypertension include corpulence, genetic factors, lifestyles, pain relievers and excessive use of alcohol.


People who are suffering from high blood pressure will eventually have to take medication in order to control it. The patients mostly rely on allopathic medicines in order to lower it. Allopathic medicines are accompanied with side effects. The side effect is an undesirable implication of a medicine. Home remedies to cure high blood pressure with minimal or almost no side effect. A home remedy is a treatment to alleviate a disease or aliment that uses spices, vegetables or other ordinary stuff. Almost all the allopathic medicines have side effects and hypertension medicines being no exception. Some of the side effects of hypertension medicines may include slower heart rate, or it may cause the heart rate to be irregular or fast. Some patients also complain depression. However, the most frequently observed side effect is the fatigue. In order to escape from these side effects various options are available and best among them being the home remedies. Yes, you can use different. These home remedies have been used for centuries and are proved very effective. Now a day there use has increased enormously. There are many home remedies that are available in order to lower or control the hypertension. A hypertension patient can use one or a combination of these in order to cure the disease. Some of the commonly used remedies are listed below for the sake of convenience.
 
Green tea: Green tea helps prevents high blood pressure. It helps in lowering high blood pressure by repressing angiotensin, a factor that causes high blood pressure. So have 3 to 4 cups of green tea in a whole day.

Melon and poppy seeds: take 100 grams of melon and poppy seeds each. Make a powder of both these seeds by grinding them. Mix both these powders and store them in a jar. Consume 1 table spoon of this powder in the morning and evening. It will help lowering your blood pressure.

Garlic:Before having anything in the morning take 1 to 2 pods of garlic with water. It is the highly recommended remedy to lower hypertension.

Curry leaves: Take 25 to 30 curry leaves. Add them to blender with one glass of water and make a juice of them. Stain it. Now drink this juice before having anything in the morning.

Coriander and Mint leaves: the hypertension patients can chew coriander and mint leaves as it can help lowering high blood pressure. In addition to this if you instantly want to lower your blood pressure you can have half table spoon of dry coriander with water as it proves very effective.

Water: It is the most important remedy and is even suggested by the physicians. After having a bath drink one glass of water, and it helps reducing the blood pressure. Moreover, have water at successive intervals to control your hypertension.

Honey, Ginger and Cumin seeds: take 1 tbs of ginger juice. Powder the cumin seeds and take 1
tbs. now mix them both with 1 tbs of honey. Have this mixture twice a day to control your blood pressure.

Black seed oil: Take one teaspoon of black seed oil daily. It can also be used in a juice or tea. Black seed oil contains such elements that help control cholesterol and thus keep the blood pressure intact.
